Pada hari Selasa, 18 Juni 2024, Gunung Merapi kembali menunjukkan aktivitas vulkaniknya dengan memuntahkan awan panas guguran sejauh 1.500 meter ke arah Kali Bebeng atau Krasak.

Peristiwa ini terjadi pada pukul 20:55 WIB dan tercatat dengan amplitudo maksimum 37 mm dengan durasi 149.52 detik. Menurut Balai Penyelidikan dan Pengembangan Teknologi Kebencanaan Geologi (BPPTKG), status Gunung Merapi saat ini masih Siaga (Level III).

Gunung api terlihat jelas dan teramati asap kawah utama berwarna putih dengan intensitas tipis hingga sedang tinggi sekitar 25-50 meter dari puncak. Cuaca cerah hingga mendung dengan angin lemah ke arah barat.

Aktivitas Gunung Merapi dalam beberapa hari terakhir:

17 Juni 2024: Terjadi 2 kali guguran lava ke arah barat daya (Kali Bebeng) dengan jarak luncur maksimum 1.200 meter.
18 Juni 2024: Teramati 2 kali guguran lava ke arah barat daya (Kali Bebeng) dengan jarak luncur maksimum 1.200 meter.
18 Juni 2024: Terjadi awan panas guguran sejauh 1.500 meter ke arah Kali Bebeng atau Krasak.

Masyarakat di sekitar Gunung Merapi diimbau untuk tetap waspada dan mengikuti arahan dari petugas untuk tidak melakukan aktivitas di daerah bahaya yang telah ditetapkan.
