Band punk rock asal Kanada, Sum 41, telah mengumumkan akan bubar setelah tur panjang mereka. Nanun begitu, Sum 41 baru saja merilis sebuah single baru yang diberi judul “Rise Up” bersamaan dengan pengumuman album terakhir mereka Heaven :x: Hell yang akan dirilis pada 29 Maret 2024 mendatang.

Dalam keterangan tertulisnya sang frontman Deryck Whibley mengatakan bahwa saat menulis “Rise Up” ia merasakan hal yang sama ketika ia pertama kali menandatangani kontrak. “Saya merasakan tekanan dan kebutuhan untuk menciptakan sesuatu yang hebat, namun pada saat yang sama saya merasa sangat bersemangat,” tegasnya.

Sementara, berbicara tentang albumnya ia juga mengatakan bahwa saat ia mendengar musiknya, ia cukup percaya diri untuk mengataka bahwa album itu adalah rekaman yang ingin ia keluarkan selama ini.

“Kami telah membuat album ganda pop-punk dan metal, dan itu masuk akal. Butuh waktu lama bagi kami untuk membuka jalan ini bagi diri kami sendiri, tapi kami berhasil melakukannya, dan ini unik bagi kami,” ujarnya.
