So, Catchweight merupakan istilah ketika petarung sedang dalam situasi tidak masuk batas kelas yang ditentukan. Ngerti nggak? Misal nih, ada petarung yang awalnya ada di kelas featherweight punya berat 148 lbs. Nah, limit featherweight itu 145 lbs. Situasi si petarung di atas limit featherweight. Nah, itu yang disebut Catchweight, bro.

Tapi, apakah jadinya laga batal? Bisa batal bisa lanjut, bro. Kalau lanjut, petarung yang gagal memenuhi target berat harus ngasih 20-30% payout yang doi terima untuk lawannya. Nah, si lawan juga berhak untuk membatalkan pertarungan karena emang udah nggak sesuai kontrak.

Baru-baru ini ada loh laga UFC yang dikategorikan sebagai Catchweight. Duel antara Dan Ige vs Diego Lopes pada UFC 303 jadi Catchweight bout tahun ini. Berat badan Ige 20 lbs, melebihi limit berat kelas featherweight. Tapi, duel tetap berlanjut sesuai peraturan yang ada.

Debut UFC Jeka Saragih di UFC juga hampir dianggap sebagai Catchweight loh. Lucas Alexander lawannya, kelebihan 3 lbs dari limit berat featherweight. Nggak masalah bagi Jeka, doi tetap menang lawan Alexander.
