Sejak tutup usia pada tahun 2001, perayaan ulang tahun dari salah satu pionir punk rock dunia, Joey Ramone rutin digelar setiap tahunnya dalam bentuk sebuah konser tribute yang bertajuk Joey Ramone Birthday Bash dan diselenggarakan di beberapa tempat di kota New York, Amerika Serikat.

Namun, ada sedikit perbedaan dalam perayaan di tahun 2020 ini. Karena pandemi yang belum juga usai, konser Joey Ramone Bithday Bash terpaksa harus dihelat dalam formal virtual. Live streaming akan digelar pada Selasa (19/5) pukul 1 pagi waktu Amerika.

CJ Ramone dan Richie Ramone selaku dua anggota Ramones yang masih hidup, akan tampil dalam pertunjukan ini, seperti apa yang telah mereka lakukan di tahun-tahun sebelumnya. Bintang tamu lainnya yang dikonfirmasi akan turut memeriahkan adalah Glen Matlock, pemain bas dari Sex Pistols, Clem Burke dari Blondie, Dave Faulkner hingga Dune Rats.

Live streaming konser Joey Ramone Birthday Bash ini akan disiarkan secara gratis melalui akun Facebook resmi Joey Ramone. Nantinya para penggemar akan diarahkan untuk berdonasi kepada Joey Ramone Foundation. Joey Ramone sendiri meninggal dunia dalam usia 49 tahun.
